Free printable Sudoku, your way

Make a Sudoku pack for a quiet morning, a journey, or a puzzle session with friends. Choose from five difficulty levels, print up to 20 puzzles at a time, and add solutions if you want an answer key. The sheets are free and have no ads.

How to print your Sudoku puzzles

  1. Choose your difficulties. Select one level for a consistent pack, or mix several levels for variety. Keep at least one difficulty selected.
  2. Set the number of puzzles. Create between 1 and 20 puzzles in a pack.
  3. Choose your layout and paper. Fit one, two, or four puzzles on each page, and match the paper size to A4 or US Letter.
  4. Decide whether to include solutions. Answer pages appear after the puzzles, so you can keep them separate while solving.
  5. Select Print or download. Choose your printer in the browser’s print window, check the preview, and print when you are ready.

Use Regenerate puzzles whenever you want a fresh set before printing.

Save a Sudoku PDF for later

Select Print or download, then choose Save as PDF in the print window instead of a printer. Your browser or operating system may use a different name for this option. Save the file to print later or take it to a printer elsewhere.

Check that the print window uses the same paper size you selected on this page. If your browser adds a date, page address, or title, turn off its headers and footers for a cleaner sheet. Review the preview before saving or printing.

Choose a comfortable puzzle layout

  • One puzzle per page: the most room for pencil marks and larger digits.
  • Two puzzles per page: a balance between writing space and paper use.
  • Four puzzles per page: a compact pack for shorter sessions or sharing.

For your first pack, try beginner or easy puzzles with one or two per page. Move to medium, hard, or expert when you want more of a challenge. You can mix levels in the same pack so different players have something to work on.

How to solve Sudoku on paper

Fill every empty cell with a digit from 1 to 9. Each row, column, and outlined 3 × 3 box must contain every digit exactly once. The printed clues stay fixed. You do not need arithmetic: the digits act as nine different symbols.

Start with rows, columns, or boxes that have only a few empty cells. Before writing a digit, check all three groups it belongs to. Use a pencil for small candidate notes, and erase candidates as nearby cells are filled.

If you get stuck, look for a cell with only one possible digit, or a digit that has only one available place in a row, column, or box. For worked explanations, read how to play Sudoku and our guide to Sudoku techniques.

Questions about printable Sudoku

Can I print without the answers?

Yes. Leave Include solutions switched off for a puzzle-only pack. Switch it on before printing if you want the answer pages included at the end.

Can I print the same puzzles again?

Save your pack as a PDF and print that file whenever you need another copy. Regenerating puzzles creates a new set, so save the pack you want to keep first.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed to create, print, or save a printable Sudoku pack.

Can I use these sheets in a classroom or puzzle group?

You can make a pack for a shared session and print copies of the saved PDF so everyone works on the same puzzles. Keep the solution pages aside until the session is finished, or print them separately as an answer key.
